Our group members at ‘A Shared Place’ photography project were delighted to be invited by Leeds Museums, to take photographs for a booklet being printed for a new exhibition ‘Leeds to Innovation’ at Armley Industrial Museum.

The photographers have been working with Skippko artists Nicki and Sally over several months learning technical aspects of photography as well as developing their creative responses.

The group are currently helping to curate their own exhibition and selecting images for an ISBN publication.

“Real compliment to be asked to do the photo shoot. I learnt a lot about composing the photo.  I was also thinking about how the viewer would see that image, who the audience are and how they are going to see it.”

“I was seeing things in a different way or things I had missed before.”

“Time out from the rest of my life – a little oasis.”

“It helps me stop thinking about the stresses of my life.”
