‘At Home’ action research

We’re currently facilitating four new ‘at home’ projects, trying out new ways of working as lockdown continues and isolation affects a range of people across Leeds communities.
The projects will give us detailed information on what works, the benefits of creative activities and what lessons we can learn, to inform a large ‘at home’ programme of work ‘Me, Myself’ for 2021 and beyond.
‘Windows across Leeds’ working with Carers Leeds creating art works presenting the many varied views from people’s windows, with glass pens and acetates. The individual pieces will come together in Spring next year as a 3D ‘house’ of windows….
‘Tree of Hope’ is a collaboration with Halton Moor and Osmondthorpe Project for Elders, and will be a great community effort, creating hand illustrated and designed leaves reflecting on lockdown life, that will be brought together in to a large tree installation at HOPE’s community venue….
‘Shutter Stories’ is a new photography project for Carers running from October 20 to Spring 21. Photography briefs will give a focus to the work which will include online technical and creative support plus outdoor photoshoots, as well as provide some social contact between Carers with an interest in photography.
‘Windows on Nature’ is a partnership project with Leeds Museums and Armley Helping Hands building on work undertaken with ‘the Squirrels’ group earlier this year. Our focus will be birds with art materials, bird templates and nature packs being delivered to isolated older people in Armley. Watch out for the birds on display at Armley Mills in 2021….
