Bees and Flowers at Hollybush
23/05/25

We starting this term’s sessions at ‘Under the Canopy’ with all things flowery, creating bunches of wire flowers in re-purposed upholstery spring vases.

We had a magical flower tea bomb – a green tea ball that slowly opened in our cups to reveal a flower and a refreshing brew!

The following session we had lots of bee related activities for world bee day…. we looked for bees around Hollybush, made felt bees, sang songs about bees and Matthew showed us the bees ‘waggle dance’ (sorry no video!!)

Some wonderful photos and words from Yvonne….
“We sang some songs, learnt some bee facts and then explored hollybush to find some!
We found a few bees..but less then we expected to..a few ladybirds and their larvae. Beautifully warm in the sun but chilly elsewhere!
I’ll enclosed a few pics…thank you so much for providing this little piece of paradise for us all.”

And to finish off we tried some edible flowers in our pea and mint soup….. another fun time had by all UTC.
