I trained in textiles at Huddersfield Polytechnic. Since then I have worked as an artist / maker / arts facilitator, with interludes working in social care and bringing up children.
My own work is inspired by the outdoors, the natural and the man-made world. I explore colour and texture through drawing, painting and textiles. My work is developed through sketching from observation, photography and experimentation, working up to a finished piece. Currently I am experimenting with felt making, alongside painting with acrylics and have been trying to capture movement.
As a facilitator I work with a variety of groups including older people, people with learning disabilities, children and schools, community events and Lifelong Learning.
